Jurica-Suchy Nature Museum
Microscopes Available
Recently,
the staff of the Jurica-Suchy Nature Museum came across some of
the old microscopes that Fr. Hilary and Fr. Edmond used in their
zoology and botany labs.
An alumnus of the college volunteered
to clean up the scopes and see what they look like after being
polished and cleaned. They are about one foot high and made of
brass and a black metal. Some are usable and all look good as
a show piece. After placing one in his office, John Mickus began
to receive questions about how others could get one.
We have decided
to give our alumni who might be interested in these the first
chance to have a piece of our history. Because of the small quantity
of fifteen available, a first come first serve basis will be implemented.
For a donation of $250, you can have one of these microscopes
as a display piece of your own. All donations will directly benefit
the Jurica-Suchy Nature Museum. For more information, and to reserve
your display piece, please email mdaniel@ben.edu.
