2011 Stats available at NAIA

On January 16, 2012 the Bulldogs added five new players to their roster by signing Monica DeVault, Kelsey Harms, Miranda Langen, Shannon Stuart, and Sam Riss to the softball program.

DeVault Monica DeVault – Monica will graduate from Lanphier HS, Springfield, IL and was the leading hitter in the CS8 with a .523 batting average and cranked out 14 homers between high school and summer ball. She wasnamed to the All-CS8 team her freshman, sophomore and junior years. Monica will add tremendous versatility as she can play all 9 positions on the field. Monica will add depth and tremendous power to the Bulldog line-up. Monica is the daughter of Ken and Julie DeVault.

 

Kelsey Harms – Kelsey will graduate from Athens HS in Athens, IL. Kelsey will bring us a much needed presence from the left side and is a hitter who can drive the ball. Kelsey had a .380 batting average while driving in 26 runs for Athens during the 2011 season. She was named to the All Sangamo Conference team as a sophomore and Junior. Kelsey can catch, and play both IF and OF. Her versatility and athleticism will be a huge asset to the Bulldog line-up. Kelsey is the daughter of Jim and Ellie Harms. harms

 

Langen Miranda Langen – Miranda will graduate from Morrisonville HS in Morrisonville, IL. She is a tremendous student with great athleticism. She is a great defensive catcher with a very strong arm. Miranda has a huge upside at the plate and we look for her to develop into a gap-to-gap type hitter. Miranda was named All-Conference her sophomore and junior years, and was named the defensive player of the year in 2011. Miranda is the daughter of Larry and Susan Langen.

 

Shannon Stuart – Shannon will graduate from University HS in Normal, IL. Shannon is a great defensive 3rd baseman, who is also capable of providing help at other positions. Shannon is a solid hitter with gap power and was voted to the All-Conference team her sophomore season and looks to repeat that as a senior. Shannon finished a tough fall season with the Hitting Center 18u College Exposure Team, batting .419 with 12 RBI’s. Shannon is a tremendous student and will provide some much needed depth to our infield. Shannon is the daughter of David and Geri Stuart. Stuart

 

Sam Riss – Sam graduated from Streator HS in Streator, IL and has been playing NJCAA softball for Illinois Valley CC the past two seasons. Sam led the team with 19 doubles and batted .442 with 33 RBI’s. Her career stats from high school were just as impressive, having batted .359, with 32 doubles, 24 homeruns and 118 RBI’s. Sam was named All-Conference sophomore, junior and senior seasons as well as All Academic all four years. Additionally, Sam was the team MVP her Freshman and Senior years. Sam will make an immediate impact as we look for her to solidify our team. Sam is the daughter of Allen and Gina Riss.
